Ingredients

  • 4 large  potatoes washed and patted dry
  • Cooking spray
  • 8 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 tablespoon Sour cream
  • Seasoning salt such as Jane’s Krazy Mixed-Up Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Butter for topping
  • Onions green
  • Salt
  • Foil

Instructions

  • To begin, preheat the oven to 350° F. Next, using a fork, puncture several holes into each potato, followed by spraying cooking spray and seasoning with pepper and salt. Proceed by wrapping each potato in foil, and placing them on a baking sheet. Bake the potatoes in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  • Once the potatoes are done, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before unwrapping and cutting them in half lengthwise. Preheat the broiler to high heat, then spread butter or olive oil over the potatoes and sprinkle with seasoning salt. Place the potatoes under the broiler for approximately 5 minutes or until golden brown on top, taking care not to burn them.
  • Once done, remove the potatoes from the oven and top with cheese, sour cream, butter, and green onions. The potatoes are now ready to serve warm.

Notes

  • Make sure to wash and pat dry your potatoes thoroughly before cooking. This will ensure that they cook evenly and are free from any dirt or debris.
  • Puncturing several holes in the potatoes using a fork will allow steam to escape and prevent them from exploding in the oven.
  • Season the potatoes generously with salt and pepper before wrapping them in foil. This will help to infuse the potatoes with flavor and make them more delicious.
  • Once the potatoes are done baking, allow them to cool for a few minutes before cutting them in half. This will make them easier to handle and prevent any burns.
  • Preheating the broiler to high heat is important for achieving a crispy and golden brown top. Make sure to keep a close eye on the potatoes while they are under the broiler to prevent burning.
  • Topping the potatoes with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, butter, and green onions will add a burst of flavor and make them even more delicious.
  • Don't be afraid to customize the toppings to your liking. You can add bacon bits, chives, or even seafood like shrimp or crab meat to make the potatoes even more flavorful.
