Cuisine American
Servings 6

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp  butter
  • 1/4 cup  onions diced
  • 1/4 cup  bell pepper diced
  • 1/4 cup  tomatoes diced
  • 1/4 cup  ham diced
  • 3/4 cup  shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup  bacon diced and fried
  • 1/3 cup breakfast sausage cooked and diced
  • 1/3 cup  shredded beef
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 1/8 cup  water
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add onions and bell peppers.
  • Cook onion and pepper until soft, but not browned.
  • Stir in the diced ham and cook until the ham is limp and heated through. Remove immediately from heat and set aside.
  • Add eggs, water, and salt to a mixing bowl. Combine them well and beat them well. Place the bowl aside.
  • Add a little oil to a 12-inch frying pan and heat on medium-low. It's best to use a nonstick pan.
  • Sprinkle the egg mixture with onions, bell peppers, ham, tomato if you wish, sausage, bacon, and half the roast beef, along with 1/2 cup of shredded cheese, in the pan.
  • Cover the omelette until it begins to set. Fold the omelette from the sides to the centre as soon as you remove the lid. Fold in half if it is difficult.
  • Add the remaining cheese and roast beef. Serve with a side of Picante Sauce or Sour Cream and diced green onions.

Notes

  • Use a non-stick pan: This will help prevent the omelette from sticking to the pan and make it easier to flip.
  • Use low heat: Cooking the omelette over low heat will help ensure that it cooks evenly and doesn't burn.
  • Cook the vegetables and meat separately: Cooking the vegetables and meat separately allows you to control the cooking time for each and ensure that they are cooked to your liking.
  • Beat the eggs well: Beating the eggs well will help make the omelette light and fluffy.
  • Use a lid to cover the omelette while cooking: Covering the omelette with a lid while it cooks will help the top cook evenly and prevent it from drying out.
  • Use a spatula to fold the omelette: A spatula makes it easier to fold the omelette without breaking it.
  • Add the cheese and remaining meat towards the end: Adding the cheese and remaining meat towards the end of cooking will ensure that they don't burn or become too crispy.
  • Serve with your favourite toppings: The omelette pairs well with Picante Sauce or Sour Cream and diced green onions, but feel free to experiment with your favourite toppings.
